Gullible Travels

When I was a little kid I believed those little seeds on certain hamburger buns were hamburger seeds because my Uncle Billy told me that's how they made the burgers. I didn't believe him right away; at first I had my doubts.

"What about McDonald's?" I asked him. "They don't have any seeds on their buns."

"Seedless burgers, kid," my uncle said. "You've heard of seedless oranges, haven't you? Seedless grapes? Same thing."

Two days later I planted a couple dozen hamburger seeds in my backyard and waited for the harvest.

I'm not so gullible these days. I think. Maybe.

What a lovely image of you, as a child, planting hamburger seeds in your backyard. It made me smile.
