Lost and Found

I discover that I’m a biological wonder when I realize that I no longer have a heart. There’s a black, gaping hole right where it used to be, and it feels empty. I’ve lost it somehow and I don’t know where to find it.
He bumps into me one day by accident. “Excuse me, have you seen a heart anywhere around here?” I ask, and his head shoots up. “You’re looking for a heart too?” We look at each other’s chest where our own hearts used to be and grin. Our hearts are now where the other’s used to be.
