War, Even Then, Entrance to Hell

In the Stone Age when weaponry fell short
Hand-to-hand killing was a form of sport,
Body met body with little breadth,
Loss meant slavery or an altar death.

Sticks and stones enemy bones did breaking,
Long sticks for spearing, short ones do stabbing.
Rocks stunning opponents as they are running,
Shark teeth clubs lacerate–disemboweling.
