Chasing Cows out of the Lo'i

The thirsty cows are destroying the green taro patches. Our 'ohana of taro farmers became tranformed overnight into inexperienced cowboys somehow herding the cows back to the ranch across the road through the broken rusty wire fence.

Two months ago, there was one lone stubborn cow in Uncle Kimo's taro patch. Uncle was not amused.

At supper one evening, I asked Uncle Kimo, "Did you ever dream that in 20 years of farming you would be chasing cows out of the taro patch?"

"Pray for rain," was all he said.
