Unfurling

Green.  A color with flavor.

The green of limes souring in the sun,

The green of tart apples with a bite.

Green, the color of bile.

Green, the green flash of jealousy as I listen

To yet another woman friend pushing her envelope,

Sprung, liberated from a marriage that turned green.

She wrote of her Kalaulau Wow! adventures—

A woman who got in touch with her Indiana Joanness

Hiking through the valley, bathing nude at the waterfall,

Kayaking, solitary, well, almost solitary walks

On deserted beaches, yoga and sex with a stranger.

Wild, exhilarating rides

With no return trips planned.
