Mama Don't Lie

Mama Don't Lie

You say that the woman in Proverbs 31 is not you.
Mama, don't lie.
You say that you hate your life.
Mama, don't lie.
You say the man you married is not the man you have now.
Mama, don't lie.
You say you hate your husband.
Mama, don't lie.

You've raised and provided for three children and grandchildren for over forty years.
I know you.
I know that woman in Proverbs is you.
You can't lie to me Mama.
So Mama, don't lie.

The man you married, my Papa, is still the same.
As stubborn as ever.
I should know
I'm half of him.
So Mama, don't lie.

I don't see a caregiver slip on the catheder.
Instead I see a loving wife caring for her lover.
To be married to someone fr over forty years and then say such hateful words
Is a lie.
So Mama, don't lie.
