Why Philip Volunteers at the Waikiki Aquarium

Philip failed to ignore the body heat and floral fragrance coming off the young women flanking him.

With his hand beneath the touch pool’s surface, he willed the little left-handed hermit crab to show. The Todai co-eds surrounding him held their collective breath, their bowed heads and bodies creating a pocket world.

Concentrating on the crab as its legs pricked his palm, he was caught off-guard as a dozen voices harmonized in amazement: “Kawaii!” (Cute!)

Their voices slid into his ears and coaxed desire from along his spine; Philip shivered.

The crab leapt, landing seconds later on a sea cucumber.
