The Greenworld

Green is grass and shamrocks
which green goblins pick to eat with green eggs and ham
which leprechauns pay their golden pots for.
They eat at ends of rainbows on moss-covered rocks
wearing green spectacles from the Emerald City.

From Saint Patrick’s minty breath
came green parrots screaming scary songs
carrying green lantern greenlights in their beaks,
flying through the green flash
to find the healthy

Greenworld
untouched by humans
the place where dinosaurs still thrive
fed by towering greentrees and spinach artichoke dip
a place with no sickness and no kryptonite fright.
Green is the color of this world.
