But I have not raced to the edge

Of my thoughts nor broken the limits

Of my pain in order to remember you

When no one will – this silence,

Absence of remembrance that I

Will not stand for.

 

Let me consume these pains

While I am here – for you, for the unspoken

Words and words we’d rather

Take back, the untaken

Kindnesses and unintended rejections.

 

So please do not deny me

These desires to weather your storm,

As living in silence

Is much more difficult

When you have already left me.
